Jive Software misses a beat on security

    Data breaches happen for all manner of reasons. Whether it happens to be because of a software misconfiguration, a missing security patch or the odd zero day exploit, they are unavoidable in today’s digital landscape. But, most of them do not have to be so. There are errors that happen that illustrate that security issues will always exist as long as there are people touching keyboards.

    This week the software company Jive published a data breach disclosure that their task management platform Producteev had suffered an exposure. This was pertaining to an incident that took place in August of this year. The problem was due to some usernames and passwords were not stored in a secure fashion.
