This small post shows how you can fix the "Pane is dead" error that happens during the installation of Fedora on a HP Proliant server. The error in question: I get myself the error whenever I install one of the new Fedora version on my "HP ProLiant DL580 G5" or my "HP ProLiant DL360 G5" but by doing the steps below I can succesfully install Fedora without problems. Step 1: Boot the server with the Fedora install source and wait at the boot menu Boot menu you should see looks like this: Step 2: Get the full configuration options line to show At the Fedora installation boot window press tab while standing on the "Install Fedora xx" option So press tab while standing on this option: (Install Fedora 20) After pressing "TAB" it should now look like this: Step 3: Add the following text to the end of the line. Code: modprobe.blacklist=cnic,bnx2i It should now look like this: Now press "Enter" and your installation will start. And that is all to let Fedora successful install!
